Baby Guru-EPs (2011-2012)

Baby Guru is the first band whose album was uploaded at this blog.Yet,before and after the release of their debut album, they recorded a total of 3 EPs,2 of them based on improvisations, and the last one was more of a compilation of covers they made the past year.Huge amount of credit should be given at M.Hulot's blog (http://mhulotsnothingdays.blogspot.gr/),as well as OUGH magazine (http://www.ough.gr/) for sharing and informing the public about the EPs.

Yogi Sister EP (vol.1) is the first installment in a series of experimental-primitive recordings that will be given to the public for free. It is Baby Guru's tribute to the lo-fi sound of an old cassette that marked their childhood years. The basic tracks were recorded live, using only one microphone in the middle of the room and then the band added horns, baglamas, samples (played in real time), fender rhodes etc. Nothing was rehearsed -it started out as a jam and the whole thing was finished a few hours later.
Influences for this EP: the minimal grooves of Neu!, Can's Tago Mago, the psychedelic sounds of Broadcast, Ariel Pink's first recordings, the last two LPs from the Doors and Blend aka Mishkin's Sudden Death.

Tracklist:
1.Part I
2.Part II
3.Part III
4.Part IV

Yogi Sister EP (vol.2)  is the second installment in a series of experimental-primitive recordings and its vibe reflects on the band's state of uncertainty and anger for a period of time.- All the tracks are products of free improvisation.- Guitars make their first appearance.- The band members switched roles on many occasions.- "Sister Ray Approximately" started as an attempt at covering Velvet Underground's Sister Ray, but the whole thing evolved into a different kind of (bad) trip.

Tracklist:
1.Trippin'
2.Korova
3.Nagoi
4.Sister Ray Approximately
5.Bottom
6.Lowest Point In Heaven

This is their last EP to date, which includes all their covers done the last year, just before the release of their new album called "Pieces".The intro is actually an outtake from "Pieces".

Tracklist:
1.Intro (A Sad Observation) ft. Christina
2.Candy Says  (Velvet Underground Cover)
3.The Queen Is Dead (The Smiths Cover)
4.Low Land ft. BnC & Marilu (Mechanimal Cover)
